Tirthan Valley is located at a distance of 70 km from Kullu. It is at an altitude of 1600m above the sea level. It is located inside the Great Himalayan National Park. The valley can be reached from Gushani by trek. It is one of the best trekking trails in Himachal Pradesh. The name Tirthan is derived from Tirthan River which originates from glaciers of Himalayas.
If the trekkers want to start their trekking into GHNP the valley also serves as a base camp. The valley is food for trekking, trout fishing, overnight camping, river crossing and all kind of adventures activities. A permit is required for trout fishing here. The prime location for fly fishing is Nagini.
