Sirmaur district is located in the outer Himalayas which are generally known as the Shivalik range. It has a beautiful bracing climate, landscapes, and legendary temples which hold an enduring attraction for the tourists. It is a triangle of 3 important tourist places namely Renuka, Nahan, and Paonta Sahib. Nahan is the district headquarters of Sirmaur. Sirmaur connects the hills of Uttar Pradesh to the hills of Himachal.
The Giri River is the biggest river in the district. It originates from Jubbal/Kotkhai and flows to south-east direction. Many tributaries join Giri River; important of them is Jalal River. Jalal River originates from Dharthi range near Pachhad and joins the river at Dadahu from the right side.
